PRESQUE ISLE – Carleton D. Rose, 68, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 4, 1938, at Presque Isle, the son of Milo D. and Doris (Bean) Rose. Carleton served in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated a garage years ago. Most recently he worked as a horseman and a jack of all trades. He loved the outdoors, horses and “the county.” He truly loved and adored his grandchildren and was an excellent grandfather. He is survived by his son, Jody D. and his wife, Shannon, of Falmouth; his two grandchildren, Jordan and Avery; a special friend and companion, Louise Seiders of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and two sisters, Donna LaPointe and Alice Hensley. Relatives and friends may call 10-11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Palmer officiating. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Carleton to Maine Standard Breeders Scholarship Fund, care of Joy Duncan, P.O. Box 612, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
