BANGOR – Carlton “Carlos” R. Tracy, 78, died Sept. 23, 2007, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor, after a brief illness. He was born April 7, 1929, in Ells-worth, the son of Sylvanus and Grace (Bartlett) Tracy. Carl attended schools in Ellsworth, then joined the U.S. Army serving in Germany. He was a well-known car painter in the Bangor area. Carl is survived by his partner, Betty Nevells; two sons and their wives, Kim and Bev and Vaughn and Linda; two stepchildren, Judy Poole and Roland Crooker Jr. and his wife, Shirley; two brothers, Sylvanus Jr. and his wife, Carrie, and Ronald and his partner, Viola; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Jim Brown and his wife, Dawn. He was predeceased by two wives, Delma and Evelyn; infant daughter, Vera; and his brother, Ruel. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at a memorial reception to be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
