BUCKSPORT and ELIOT Carlton F. Grover, 84, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004. He was born May 29, 1919, in Eliot, the son of John and Marion (Fernald) Grover. Carlton was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Air Force in the South Pacific as an airplane mechanic and, later, a carpenter. In his civilian life he was a carpenter until becoming a rural mail carrier in Eliot from 1959 until retiring in 1979. He had formerly resided on Grover Ave. and Woodbine Ave. in Eliot. He is survived by his son, John Grover and wife, Colleen; his cherished grandson, Ian, all of Corinna and his wife, Doris (Chapman) Grover of Eliot. He was predeceased by his first wife, Maydelle (Lovejoy) Grover. A service of remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004, at the Lucas Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, ME with the Rev. Ken Dale officiating.
