ORRINGTON – Carol A. (Johnston) Junkins, 78, died June 4, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 25, 1926, in Hancock the daughter of Carroll W. and Phyllis A. (Clarke) Johnston. She was a 1944 graduate of Brewer High School while holding a full-time job as a secretary at Footman’s Dairy in Brewer. Carol and her late husband Philip enjoyed many years of square dancing, camping, and traveling. She also enjoyed sewing and spending time with her cats. She is survived by her three children, Carroll E. Junkins and his wife, Tauna, of Maryland, Anita L. King and her husband, Hazen, of Orrington, Phyllis E. Holowchik and her husband, John, of New Hampshire; her brother, Norris Johnston and his wife, Tai, of Ellsworth; her sister, Anne Pomroy of Old Orchard Beach; sisters-in-law, Ruth Miner and Audry Junkins; 10 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carol was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Philip Junkins; her father, Carroll W. Johnston; and her mother, Phyllis A. (Clarke) Johnston Pomroy.
