BARBOURSVILLE, Va. – Gerald Lewis Crabtree, 68, of Barboursville, Va., passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville, Va. He was born Aug. 7, 1936, in Hancock, and was the son of the late Leroy and Lura Young Crabtree. He was a graduate of Wentworth Institute in Boston, Mass. and the University of Maine. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Antique & Classic Boat Society. He was employed by Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, retiring in 1997. He was predeceased by a sister, Hazel Hagan. He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia Sadowski of Barboursville, Va.; daughter, Jessica Ann Kehler of Barboursville, Va.; sons, Gregory of Phoenix, Ariz., Kenneth of Fredericksburg, Va.; grandchildren, Moira, Jordan and Christian Crabtree of Fredericksburg, Va., Alexis Thomas of Barboursville, Va.; sisters, Ruth Gregory of Victorville, Calif., Alice Souther of Skowhegan, and Lois Johnson of Hancock. A funeral mass was held Monday, June 6, 2005, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, Pa., followed by interment in St. Casimirs Cemetery, Hunlock Creek, Pa. There is a memorial service is scheduled for Mr. Gerland L. Crabtree 10 a.m. June 9, 2005, at the Union Congressional Church, Hancock. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Children International, P.O. Box 419055, Kansas City, MD 64141.
