BAR HARBOR – Carol A. Robbins, 74, died of Nov. 27, 2004, at the Collier House Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Ellsworth. Born April 8, 1930, in Sioux Falls, S.D., Carol was the daughter of Albert and Marian Anderson (Ryan), and the stepdaughter of Margaret Anderson. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers’ College and trained to teach elementary school. While living in Boston, she met David H. Robbins and they married June 13, 1959. David died on November 29, 1994. Together, they raised their four children in Lexington, Mass. In 1977, the family moved to Bar Harbor and owned Frenchman’s Bay Campground in Trenton. Carol helped to run the campground, worked as a teacher’s aide at Conners-Emerson School in Bar Harbor for 20 years, and worked for the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce for 15 years. Carol spent her life as a loving wife and mother, and as a devoted member of her community. She is survived by her four children, Joan, Elizabeth, Jane, and David; by her five grandchildren, and by her sister, Jane Paris; and brother, John Anderson. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at The Church of Our Father in Hulls Cove. Memorial contributions may be made to Island Connections, 15 Eagle Lake Road, Bar Harbor.
