BOOTHBAY HARBOR and BATH – Carol J. (DeCosta) Sprague, 63, died on July 25, 2004, at Winship Green Nursing Home, with family by her side. She was born July 10, 1941, in Brockton, Mass., daughter of Arthur and Dorothy DeCosta. Carol relocated to Maine with her husband and family to Sherman Mills in 1976, Plymouth (1984), and Boothbay Harbor (2001). She enjoyed tending her gardens, crafts, cooking and caring for her family. She was an active member of the League of Women Voters and Eastern Star. Carol is survived and greatly missed by her beloved husband of 42 years, Charles “Chuck”; four daughters, Gayle and her husband, Kyle Garvey, of Grafton, Mass., Wendy and her husband, Clyde Brooks, of Sandy Point, Donna and her husband, Paul Hawkins, of Wesley, and Julie and her husband, Michael Herman, of High Bridge, N.J.; five grandchildren, Caleb Hawkins and wife, Ashley, of Fort Polk, La., Andria Hawkins, Jason Brooks, Alicen Brooks and Noah Garvey; and her sister, Kathi George of Pembroke, Mass. A service will be held in her memory 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the family home in Boothbay Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Maine Alzheimer’s Association, 163 Lancaster St, Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101.
