ELLSWORTH – Caroline (Reed) Haslam Stewart, 78, died at an Ellsworth healthcare facility Jan. 1, 2004. She was born at Columbia Falls, July 8, 1925, the daughter of Adin and Katie (Sinclair) Reed. She was a member of the Ellsworth VFW Auxiliary. Caroline worked as longtime driver for WHCA. She is survived by her children, Richard C. Haslam and his wife, Joan, of Lansdale, Pa., Kenneth E. Haslam and his wife, Jan, of Madison, Wis., Carole J. Easterday and her husband, Ryan, of Douglasville, Pa., and Harry H. Haslam and his wife, Mary, of Frederick, Md.; seven grandchildren, Karen Marie Bartz and her husband, Paul, Kristen Chapman and her husband, Ralph, Craig W. and Kelly A. Haslam, Richard C. Haslam Jr. and his wife, Heather, Tracy R. Easterday and Danielle E. Oldham and her husband, Marshall; four great-grandchildren, Bruce Beard, Courtney Heffner, Lindsey Chapman and Elijah Hough; one sister, Gladys Pappacosmos of Las Vegas; a half brother, Adin III.; two half sisters, Charlotte and Madolyn; several nieces and nephews. Caroline will also be missed by a special friend and caregiver, Shirley Love of Lamoine. She was predeceased by her husbands, Carlton C. Haslam in 1971; and Allan Stewart in 1984; three brothers, Adin S. Reed Jr., Lawrence Reed, Virgil Reed; and a sister, Edna Bunker. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth, with Rev. Branan Becknell officiating.
