NORTHPORT – Carolyn Anne (Kesseli) Nargesian, 78, passed away Oct. 8, 2004, at her home in Northport. Born Nov. 9, 1925, in Sutton, Mass., she was the daughter of Anton and Inez (Bourne) Kesseli. She grew up in Sutton and was graduate of Lasell College in Newton. On June 24, 1950, she married The Rev. Haig J. Nargesian in Worcester. Carolyn was a resident of Camden from 1950 to 1968, where she raised her children at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church Rectory. From 1969 to 1988, they lived in Washington, Conn., where The Rev. Nargesian served as rector at St. John’s Episcopal Church and also served as chaplain of the Gunnery School. A naturalist at heart, Carolyn raised and studied Monarch butterflies and moths. She shared her love of nature by showing caterpillar and butterfly development to school children. She especially enjoyed her flower gardens at the their family home, the Anthony Farm, at Saturday Cove overlooking Penobscot Bay. Surviving is her husband, The Rev. Haig J. Nargesian of Northport; three daughters, Victoria Stripling of North Andover, Mass., Jennifer Nargesian of Dedham, Mass., Stephanie Miksis and Edward of Franklin, Mass.; one son, Haig J. Nargesian Jr. of Weehawken, N.J.; one brother, Richard Kesseli and his wife, Elizabeth, of Holden, Mass.; three grandchildren, Nicholas Hopkins of Montreal, Canada; Carolyn Ann Stripling and Matthew Stripling, both of North Andover, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased two children, Sylvia Hopkins in 1999; Peter N. Nargesian in 1963; and a sister, Marcia Allen. A Requiem Mass of Resurrection will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Camden. The Rev. Michael Rowe officiated. Burial 2 p.m. at Seaview Cemetery, Rockport. Arrangements are with the Laite Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St., Camden.
