BANGOR – Dorothy Perkins Casey, 82, died Oct. 9, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Sept. 24, 1922, in Kennebunk the daughter of Lawrence and Frances P. (Emery) Titcomb. My husband always told me, “Oh, Dot, you always did have to have the last word!” True enough and you are hearing my last word, thanks to my family, who kindly agreed to pass it along to you. I wanted to bid all of you a personal “Good-Bye”, and leave you with two messages. The first is that I will be eternally grateful to have lived this wonderful long life during this special century here among such wonderful family and friends such as you. Thank you sincerely for all these fine relationships. You have given our family extraordinary caring and support in helping us during painful Good-Byes. For these extraordinary acts, to the ordinary waves and smiles on a day to day basis, I am most appreciative. Thank you to Leila, Helen, Mary, and Rae for the bridge games and for just plain fun in life! To Bertie, the Daughters of Isabella and Father Tracy for helping ease the pain of last good-byes and tend us spiritually and to all the rest, good friends, I want to say a most grateful “Thank You”. The other message is, I would like my leaving to remind you of just how precious life really is! As you leave, please celebrate life with your friends and families! And now, a fond good-bye to all of you; bless you, both here and in the hereafter. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Jack C. Casey and his wife, Dianne, of Lake George, N.Y., and Sean P. Casey of Bangor; daughter, Catherine A. Casey; grandchildren, Christopher, Courtney, Shane, Darren, and Andrea. She was predeceased by her husband, George Leo Casey in 1991; and a son, Col. Michael Casey in 1992. Services will be private for the family. A service of Brookings-Smith, Bangor.
