MARS HILL – Carolyn G. Ford, 79, went home to be with her Lord Jan. 13, 2005, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born June 21, 1925, in Easton the daughter of Oscar and Madolyn (Richardson) Shaw. Carolyn was a graduate of A.C.I., and later worked at the Mars Hill Rexall and Smiths Truck Stop. She was also a beautiful seamstress. She loved being with friends and was a wonderful mother and wife who will be missed by all. Carolyn attended the Faith Baptist Chapel in Blaine. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Vernon Ford of Mars Hill; a son, Rev. Charles “Buzzy” Ford and his wife, Becky, of Manchester, N.H.; four daughters, Laurie Norton and her husband, Richard, of Holden, Teresa O’Dwyer of Chapel Hill, N.C., Connie Welch and her husband, Gary, of Presque Isle, Mary Jane Stevens and her friend, Ricky Harvath, of Blaine; 12 grandchildren, Greg Ford, Jeff Ford Sr., Matthew Ford, Tammy Dalton, Jordan Norton, Joel Norton, Margo Norton, Eric Peterson, Abel O’Dwyer, Allison Tiano, Ryan O’Dwyer, Stacy Lawrence; seven great-grandchildren, Noah Dalton, Kahlel Norton, Cole Ford, Ben Ford, Emma Ford, Jeff Ford Jr., Ashley Ford; a brother, Robert Shaw of Mars Hill; several nieces and nephews, and a special aunt, Margaret Bragdon of Safety Harbor, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Monday at Faith Baptist Chapel in Blaine with the Rev. Robert McCarthy officiating. Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until time of service.
