CALAIS – Lillian P. Gorsuch, 75, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at the Atlantic Rehab and Nursing Center in Calais, following a long illness. She was born Dec. 14, 1929, in Calais the daughter of Asa and Eva Langille Sprague. She attended local schools graduating from Calais Memorial High School in 1950. Mrs. Gorsuch operated a self-employed home cleaning service in Calais for many years. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Calais and a devoted mother. She was predeceased by a grandson, Christopher Ray; a granddaughter, Anna Marie; and a sister, Marjorie Smith. Survivors include two sons, David Lee Gorsuch of Dover, N.H., and William Scott Gorsuch of Escondido, Calif.; a daughter, Phyllis M. Clark of Calais; a brother, James N. Sprague of Calais; a sister, Evelyn Jane Byer of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Amy, Lisa, Jessica, Emily, Daniel, Marjorie, and Rebekah; two stepgrandchildren, Ashley and Adam; a great-granddaughter, Jorden, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at the United Methodist Church of Calais, Pastor Lehlohonolo Henrietta Montjane will officiate. Interment will follow at the Calais Cemetery.
