GREAT POND – Carolyn J. (Grover) Honey went home to be with the Lord Jan. 23, 2008. She was the youngest child of Ray and Inez (Norton) Grover born Feb. 10, 1938, in Eddington. Carolyn attended schools in Eddington and Brewer. In 1955, she married David E. Honey, and they made their home at Great Pond. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Carolyn was a true lover of animals. She truly enjoyed her time breeding, training and showing dogs, and her farm animals. She loved gardening, knitting, spinning and spending time with the gals from The Friday Spinners. Carolyn was co-founder and largest stockholder of Little Pond Sales, Inc. Through the years Carolyn was active in the community as a member of Amherst-Aurora Church, Amherst Ladies Aid, Eddington Grange, town treasurer, assistant postmaster and 4-H volunteer. In addition to her loving husband of 52 years, she is survived by her two children, Brenda Rooney and her husband, Joe, and David Jr. and his wife, Lorraine, all of Great Pond; four granddaughters, whom she loved dearly and was the best “Grandma” ever, Michelle and her husband, David Austin, Jubilee and husband, Jeff Bailey, Heather and husband, Tom Stott, and Jasmine Honey; three great-grandchildren, Devin and Alexis Austin and Lily Bailey; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Raymond Bragg; sisters-in-law, Ann Winchester and Carol Grover; several nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by special cousins, Lynda (Honey) Vinton and husband, Sam, and Peter Honey Sr. Carolyn was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Theodora Everett and Rae Lorraine Grover; and brother, Arnold Grover. The family gives thanks to Hancock County Homecare for all their support and a special thanks to Margaret Wagner, her home health nurse, also to Theresa Mooney and the staff at CancerCare of Maine. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be held in the spring.
