GOULDSBORO – Carolyn Kay (Briggs) Hall, 70, died peacefully Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at her home. She was born Feb. 17, 1938, in South Gouldsboro, the daughter of the late Earl and Myra (Rice) Briggs Sr. Carolyn cherished time with her children and grandchildren. She loved her hometown of Gouldsboro and was an active member in her community, as she served on various committees and boards. Her favorite past-times were to have coffee at the kitchen table with friends and family, and to barbecue barefoot at Jones Pond, Gouldsboro. Carolyn will be remembered as a loving mom, grammy and sister, whose home was always open for friends and family. She shared 50 years of marriage with the late Elton E. Hall, who died in 2005. Family members include her four children, Michael Hall and his wife, Maureen, Brenda L. Clough and her husband, Nick, Eva Cisco, and Kimberly A. Marquis and her husband, Paul; six loving grandchildren, Brian, Patrick, Elizabeth, Melissa, Micheal and Charlie; and her puppy, Tippy. She will also be sadly missed by a close friend, Linda Gondecki, whom she loved as a daughter. She was also blessed with her brothers and sisters, Rena Daley, Earl Briggs Jr., Eva Newenham, Abial Briggs and Ansel “Ace” Briggs; many nieces and nephews, who called her Sibby. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Bernard “Bernie” Briggs; and sisters, Bessie Young, Agnes Lepak, Lucille Briggs and Kathleen “Kay” Moore. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at Prospect Harbor United Methodist Church with Scott Nurse officiating. A time of fellowship will be held after in the church vestry.
