HANCOCK – Carrie Maud (Moon) Jordan died peacefully May 30, 2006, surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 30, 1920, the daughter of the late Walter C. and Ida M. Moon of Hancock. Upon retirement from ARA in East Hartford, Conn. in 1983, Carrie and Hank traveled the United States, wintered in Florida, and spent their summers at their home in Hancock. Carrie was very competitive, and enjoyed a good game of pool and shuffleboard. She and Hank were true Boston Red Sox baseball fans and never missed a game. She loved to walk the beaches of Florida and had a wonderful collection of her favorite seashells. Carrie is survived by a daughter, Nancy Dow of Ellsworth; a son, David Jordan and his wife, Jane, of South Windsor, Conn.; a brother, George Moon and his wife, Doris, of Hancock; sister, Eleanor Cakas and her husband, Ziedonis, of Brocton, Mass.; a grandson, Albert Dow and his fiance, Theresa, of Ellsworth; a granddaughter, Suzanne Baez and her husband, Glenn, of Hancock; a grandson, Richard Jordan and his girlfriend, Jen Madore, of Lamoine; a granddaughter, Robin Beal and her husband, Charlie, of Ellsworth; and a grandson, Ryan Jordan of South Windsor, Conn.; great-grandsons, Chris and Tyler Baez of Hancock, Matthew Hudson of Ellsworth; and a great-granddaughter, Kristen Beal of Ellsworth. Carrie was predeceased by her husband, Linwood “Hank” Jordan of Hancock; and sisters, Mary Moon, Myra Frye, Ruth Davis, and Cecile Pond of Hancock. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 3, at the Riverside Cemetery, Hancock, with the Rev. John Holt officiating.
