EASTON – Catherine P. Ladner, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior Aug. 16, 2008, at Aroostook Health Center, Mars Hill. She was born Feb. 19, 1923, in Limestone, the daughter of Wallace and Alma (Baker) Watson. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Catherine was truly a farm wife, working both in the house and in the fields. The beautiful mittens she knit warmed many a child and adult’s hand. Any child that entered her house never left without one of her home baked cookies, except at Halloween when homemade popcorn balls were the order of the day. She was a member of Easton Pentecostal Church, where she served for many years as Sunday school secretary/treasurer. Catherine was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Leon Howe Ladner; a great-grandson, Stacy Leon Winger; a great-granddaughter, Cassidy J. Richardson; as well as brothers, Wallace and Lewis Watson. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Loris and Michael Allen and Leona and Daniel King, all of Easton; four grandsons and their wives, Jay and Ana Marie Winger, Brad and Tammy Winger, Andrew and Nicole King, Joshua and Julie King; five great-grandsons, Brian Lunney- Winger, Jaren and Karsen Winger, Blake King and Gabriel King; as well as many special nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conduct-ed 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew Maxwell officiating. Interment will take place after the service at Estes Park, Easton. In keeping with Catherine’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Easton Kiwanis Club Service Projects, P.O. Box 291, Easton, ME 04740.
