BAILEYVILLE – It is with great sadness that the family of Cecil Keen announces his passing Aug. 17, 2006. Cecil grew up in Cooper, later moving to Baileyville, where he worked at Georgia Pacific for many years. Cecil had many interests, and especially enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. His many tales of his hunting and fishing exploits will surely be missed by all that have heard them. Cecil was also a 50-year member of the Maine State Grange. After the passing of his wife, Melva, Cecil joined the Baileyville American Legion. His day was not complete without a morning trek there to play pool and enjoy coffee with all his friends. His time at the Legion gave him something to look forward to each day and his family is very appreciative of the Legion and all who welcomed him there. Cecil was predeceased by his wife, Melva; and his parents, Henry and Bertha. Cecil is survived by four children and their families, Lance and Kathy Keen of Cooper and their sons, Andy and Timmy, Gail O’Keefe of Manchester, N.H., and her daughters, Robin, Melva, Katie and Arlena, Linda Keen of Fredericton, New Brunswick, and her daughters, Heidi, Crystal and Melissa, Bonny and Ralph Webber of Raleigh, N.C., and their daughters, Lisa, Shelley and Jessica; and several great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service 1 p.m. Oct. 14, at West Ridge Cemetery, Cooper. There will be a reception immediately after at The People’s United Methodist Church, Third Avenue, Baileyville.
