PRESQUE ISLE – Cecilia Smart, 86, passed away June 13, 2007, with her loving granddaughter by her side, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born April 20, 1921, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Antoine and Annie (Bishop) Cote. Cecilia was an avid bingo player and enjoyed the banter with the members of the Presque Isle Elks Club. She is survived by eight children, Roseanna Gray of Camden, Nancy Caron of Presque Isle, Robert Smart of Winterport, Paul Vaillancourt of Washburn, Sandra Cray of Mapleton, Fred and David Smart of Presque Isle, and Joy Smart of Connecticut; one sister, Jeanette Brown of Connecticut; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Cecilia was predeceased by her husband, Rene Smart, in 1965; and three sons, Charlie, Peter, and Eugene. At her request, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at St. Mary’s North Main Street Catholic Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Moody officiating.
