PRESQUE ISLE – Celia Goan, 83, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. She was born Jan. 22, 1920, in Caribou, one of seven children, to Olive and George Goan. After graduating from Caribou High School, she and her family moved to Presque Isle. She was the bookkeeper for Goan’s Electrical for many years. A devoted lifetime companion and care giver for her mother Olive until she passed away in 1991. She is survived by her nephew, Terrance Goan, whom she raised, from Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. Terrance has three children, Tangee and Tom Bradley of York, Pa., Terrence Jr. and Toby Goan of Belview, Wash., Shannon and Christine Goan of Vista, Calif. She also is survived by her sisters, Helen Bouchard of Scarborough, Kay Kingston of Vermont, Doris Brewer of Presque Isle; a brother, Ken Goan of Florida. Friends and family may call 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Alfred Irving celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Caribou.
