WALDOBORO – Charles “CB” Osgood, 66, died at home on Friday, May 21, 2004. He was diag-nosed with AML, July 26, 2002. He was born April 3, 1938, in Easton, to Lemuel and Leola (Cyr) Osgood. CB was a life-long athlete and basketball player. He was a multifaceted man, enjoying many endeavors. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, and then worked on early fuel cell research at Willgoose Labs, in Hartford, Conn. He returned to Easton in 1963 to help his father farm. After his father died, he took over the farm. He was a member of the Easton Board of Selectmen. He earned a degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He later became town manager of Newport; city manager of Ellsworth, and public works director of Sanford and Brunswick. In the late 80’s, CB designed, developed and managed Osgood Farm Homes, an apartment and mobile home complex located on the family farm. It presently is being managed by his grandson, Brooks Osgood and Walter and Cathy Osgood. CB leaves his wife, Sherrill; sons, Aaron Osgood and his wife, Sharon of Falmouth, Mark Dobson and his wife, Lisa of Alna, Troy Dobson and his wife, Paula of East Hartford, Conn.; his brothers, Walter Osgood and his wife, Cathy of Easton, George Osgood and friend, Priscilla of Waterboro; sisters, Patricia Cready and Ed of Ruskin, Fla., Virginia White and Robert of Caribou; his stepmother, Elza Smith and Don of Presque Isle; his mother-in-law, Norma H. Larsen of Waldoboro; a very special brother-in-law, Jan H. Larsen and his wife, Bridgett of Easton and 11 grandchildren. Friends and family may gather at the Larsen-Osgood family cemetery on the Jan Larsen property, Bangor Road, Easton, 2 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004. Memorial contributions may be made to Easton High School Athletic Department, Easton, ME 04740. Arrangements are under the care of Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick.
