CORINTH and KENDUSKEAG – Wallace D. “Buddy” Preble, 78, the husband of Carolyn (Elkins) Pomeroy Preble, died unexpectedly, Sunday, May 23, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 22, 1926, in Garland, the son of Roland and Priscilla (Fish) Preble. He was an employee of Fayscott Machine Shop in Dexter from 1950 to 1969 and then employed at General Electric in Bangor from 1969 to 1984. He was a member of the Charleston Pentecostal Church for over 60 years and was a member of the Charleston Pentecostal Church Senior Citizens. Buddy loved his God, his church and family and gardening, hunting, fishing and trapping. Surviving, in addition to his wife of Corinth, are three sons, Robert Preble and his wife, Brenda of Corinth, Rev. William Preble and his wife, Valerie of Corinth and Rev. Malcolm Preble and his wife, Dorene of Zephyrhills, Fla.; six grandchildren, Lauri Cassidy, Lynette Preble, Lisa Turner, Bradley Preble, Bryan Preble and Julianna Fife; 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Charlene (Bennett) Preble in 1992. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Charleston Pentecostal Church, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Matthew Ward and Rev. Ronald E. Libby officiating. Burial will be in Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. Those who wish may make donations toward a missionary trip to the Dominican Republic, care of Charleston Pentecostal Church, P.O.
