TOPSFIELD – Charles “Chick” Floyd Daggett, 75, died peacefully Dec. 19, 2006, at his home. He was born Aug. 12, 1931, in Brookton, the son of Robert Earl and Winnefred (Brann) Daggett. He was a member of the Lewy’s Island Lodge No. 138, AF & AM, Princeton. He also enjoyed boating, fishing and playing cards with his brothers-in-law and their wives, Murray and Francis LaPlant and Raleigh and Joanne LaPlant. Along with his wife, he ran Daggett’s Country Market, Topsfield for 24 years. He was predeceased by his parents; and one brother, Robert Earl Daggett Jr. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ivah LaPlant Daggett and their children, Wayne and Diane Daggett, of Topsfield, Cindy and Edmund DelMonaco Jr. of Baileyville and Leslie and Deborah Daggett of Princeton; two sisters, Priscilla Daggett and Patricia Maddocks; and one brother, Douglas Daggett and wife, Astrid. He was the loving grandfather of several grandchildren, Danielle (Daggett) Harriman, Corey Daggett, Amanda DelMonaco, Melinda DelMonaco, Leslie Lynn Daggett, Melanie (Daggett) Cochran and Meagan DelMonaco Goulet. He was also a loving and playful great-grandfather to Micheal DelMonaco Grimanis, Everett DelMonaco Hanson, Madisyn Cochran, Ethan Monk and Brenda Goulet. He will be missed the most by his best friend, Smokey. A gathering for family and friends will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the Topsfield town building.
