SOUTH ADDISON – Charles E. Cirone, 94, died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at his residence. He was born Nov. 24, 1911, in Addison, the son of the late Frank and Marie (Kent) Cirone. Mr. Cirone served in the U.S. Coast Guard based out of the Cape Elizabeth and the Kennebec River Stations, serving as a surfman. He was a lobster fisherman for most of his life aboard his boat, F/V Claire Marie. He also was a registered Maine guide serving the Department of Inland Fisheries and Game for more than 40 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman at his camp in Addison Woods. Mr. Cirone enjoyed moose hunting in Newfoundland. He and his family spent their summers at their camp on Bar Island. He was a 50-plus year member of the Tuscan Lodge No. 106 of Addison and a 32nd degree Mason of the Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor. He shared 65 years of marriage with the late Susie (McPherson), who died in 1997. Family members include his two sons, Elliot Cirone and his wife, Donna, of Milbridge and Deane Cirone and his wife, Carolee, of South Addison; three daughters, Mary Ellen Gaudette and her husband, Philip, of Centerville, Charlene Reynolds and her husband, Douglas, of South Addison, and Claire Kennedy and her husband, Walter, of Harrington; a daughter-in-law, Nona Cirone of Addison; 29 grandchildren; 78 great-grand-children; and 20 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Wilbur and her husband, Glen, of Cherryfield and Marion Parkman of Harrington; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his two sons, Kenneth Cirone and Michael Cirone; a daughter, Betty Cirone; by five brothers, Stanley, Walter, Frank Jr., Truman, and Carl; and a sister, Florence. The family requests that services be held private and at the convenience of the family.
