MILLINOCKET – Charles E. Noddin, 75, died unexpectedly Dec. 19, 2007, while visiting with his daughter and son-in-law in Brunswick, Ga. Charles was born Sept. 24, 1932, in Millinocket. He graduated from Stearns High School in 1951. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for four years. Charles worked at Great Northern Paper Co., Millinocket, for 36 years and retired in 1986 at the age of 54. He loved fishing and hunting and spending summers at Nesowadnehunk Lake. He wintered in Florida and Myrtle Beach, S.C. Charles was a member of Millinocket Elks, American Legion, VFW, Great Northern Retirees Association and St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Millinocket. He was also a member of the board of directors at Katahdin Federal Credit Union for 28 years, where he held such offices as chairman and vice chairman. Charles was the son of the late Victoria and Lewis Noddin. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marilyn Noddin; daughters, Cheri Robbins and husband, Richard, of Brunswick, Ga., and Shelly Hafford and husband, Stacy, of Dedham; sons, Lewis Noddin II and wife, Laura, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Robert Noddin and wife, Susan, of Skowhegan; grandchildren, Bill Noddin and wife, Julie, of Columbus, Ohio, Greg Noddin of North Miami, Fla., Elizabeth and Mitchell Noddin of Skowhegan, Benjamin, Nicholas, and Samuel Hafford of Dedham; sisters, Lucille Gag-nier and husband, Clarence, of Port Orange, Fla., Barbara Nudd of Longwood, Fla., Norma Summers and husband, Robert, of Brick, N.J., and Phyllis Merrill and husband, Robert, of Stetson. A memorial service will be held in Maine, and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Charles’s name to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 10 Highland Ave., Millinocket, ME 04462.
