XENIA, Ohio – Charles E. Stanton, 93, of Xenia, and formerly of Fort Fairfield, passed away Friday, April 1, 2005, at Bellbrook Rehab and Health Care Center. He was born April 18, 1911, in Harbor Springs, Mich., the son of William and Pearl (Patterson) Stanton. He had been a minister with the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, pastoring in Maine, New York, and as a missionary in Eritrea, East Africa. He was currently an active member of Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Beavercreek, Ohio. He is predeceased by his parents; wife, Fern Eloise (Kimmell) Stanton; two daughters, Lois and Hannah Stanton; three brothers and a sister. He is survived by four daughters, Fern Emma (Arthur) Pruiksma of Bellbrook, Ohio, Audrey (Bill) Wiebenga, Ind., Lizbeth Imagie of Xenia, Cornelia (Lewis) Ruff of California; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; special friend, Karin Browning of Fort Fairfield, and her two children; also many friends and fellow parishioners who welcomed him at Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Services will be held at a later date through Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Avenue, Skowhegan. Burial will be in East Ridge Cemetery, Cornville, ME.
