BANGOR – Charles “Butchie” Edward Ugro, 60, died accidentally May 6, 2006, while doing what he loved best, fishing. He was born April 16, 1946, in Bangor. Charlie attended local schools, served in the military, and was a member of the Brewer Eagles Club. He made a living locally for many years doing painting and roofing. Charlie enjoyed many outdoor activities, especially fishing and had a special gift for woodworking. He is survived by a special friend and life partner of 10 years, Debbie George of Bangor; four children, Charles Ugro of Milford, Michael Ugro of Rockland, Brian Ugro of Corinth, Brandi Butterfield of Brewer; three stepdaughters, Tamara Alexander of Smiths, Ala., Michelle DeFroscia of Carrabassett Valley, Lori Robbins of Sedgwick; five siblings, Vendal Ugro of Minnesota, Geraldine Venanzi of Connecticut, Alvin MacNevin of Glenburn, Tina Smith of Burlington, Joan Sturgeon of Bangor; six grandchildren, Myka, Lacy, Kassandra, Garrett, Mira, Emma; two aunts; many nieces, nephews; and the Eagles 11 o’clock crew. He was predeceased by his mother, Daphne (Arey) MacNevin. A service of remembrance will be held noon Saturday, May 13, at 389 Birch St., Bangor.
