CORINTH – Charles F. Ames, 65, died July 24, 2007, at his residence after a short illness. He was born Dec. 15. 1941, in Harrington, the son of Lloyd and Leota (Merritt) Ames Sr. He had worked as a serviceman in the transportation industry for many years and also as a store manager in surrounding stores. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He had recently been employed as a custodian at Corinth Housing Corp. He is survived by two daughters, Christine Reed and her husband, Adam, of Las Vegas, and Bridgette Walker; their mother, Catherine (Watters) Ames, both of Carmel; two grandchildren, Amber Reed and Cody Walker, who called Charles, “Bampa”; two brothers, Lloyd Ames Jr. and his wife, Eunice, of Kenduskeag, and Douglas Ames and his wife, Brenda, of Newark, Ohio; five sisters, Joyce Boone and her husband, George, Ann Lenz, Nancy Campbell, Louine Sullivan, and Elinor Jackson, all of Corinth. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald; and a sister, Evelyn Limon. Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Corinth United Methodist Church with Pastor Cindy Nickerson officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth.
