MONTICELLO – Charles Henry Rock, 73, died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at home. He was born July 13, 1933, in Springfield, Mass., to parents, Charles and Adelaide Rock. Mr. Rock enlisted in the U.S. Navy April 2, 1951. He made a career in the U.S. Navy as radio operator and transferred to the fleet reserve as chief radioman Oct. 26, 1970. His call letters were NF1P. Chuck was known as a very kind, generous, giving man who always wore a smile. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Catherine (Fitzpatrick) Rock of Monticello; brother, George Harvey Rock; his children, Dennis Dean Rock of Connecticut, Charles Harvey Rock of Connecticut, Ramona Jeannine Rock of Connecticut, Sherrill Anne Barrette of Rhode Island, and Sheila Anne Charpentier of Massachusetts, as well as 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters, Francis Mae Dudek and Flora Irene Eichmann. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, with the Rev.
