WINDHAM – Charles K. Brown, 76, of Pope Road, died Friday, July 13, 2007, at his residence. He was born Jan. 2, 1931, a son of Vernon and Florida Burgess Brown. Charlie served in the U.S. Army; stationed in Germany. On Oct. 7, 1952, he married Carlene Tripp, who survives him. He loved his two sons and grandsons. Charlie had a passion for automobiles. He worked for Palmer Spring Co., and Lucas Tree Expert, where he worked until last week. Charlie was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Irwin, Herbert and Richard; and a sister, Charlotte Strout. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Ronald and Steven; his sisters, Patricia Emerson, Florence Stanley, Janet Carson, Nancy Masters, of Windham, Muriel Sayward of Gray and Barbara Capen of Naples; brothers, Malcolm Brown of Gray and Kennison “Chummy” Brown of Windham; grandsons, Ronald Jr., Shawn and James Kevin; three stepgranddaughters; one stepgreat-grandson, many nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 19, at Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. Burial will be after at Smith Cemetery, Windham.
