BELFAST – Charles Lloyd Hall Sr., 89, of Belfast, died March 25, 2005, at his home. Born May 25, 1915, in Searsmont, he was the son of Irving and Inez (Cushman) Hall. Charles worked 36 years for the Belfast and Moosehead Lake Railroad in many capacities. He was fond of the ocean, had owned several boats and was an avid hunter. He loved to play cribbage with his many friends. He was the best father that anyone could have had. Charles was a member of the Timothy Chase Lodge AF & AM. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth (Smith) Hall in 1954; his second wife, Mary (Flood) Cobb Hall in 1987; two brothers, Milton and Wilfred Hall; and a sister, Edith Walker. He is survived by two sons, Charles L. Hall Jr. and his wife, Bonnie, of Deerfield, Mass. and Richard A. Hall and his wife, Joan, of Leominster, Mass.; two stepchildren, Carolyn (Cobb) Warren and Stillman Cobb and his wife, Sylvia; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Alice (Hall) Piper and Marjorie (Hall) Walker; four nieces and four nephews. Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. Sunday, March 27, at Rackliffe Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 28. Burial will be later in the spring.
