BELFAST – Charles L. Thomas, 84, died Sunday July 4, 2004. Born June 3, 1920, in Sears-mont, he was the son of Albert and Flora Simmons Thomas. He had lived many years in Belmont before moving to Belfast. Charles was a World War II Army veteran having served in Europe, where he received the Purple Heart. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the State of Maine Department of Transportation. His passion was trucks and he enjoyed camping and his family. He was a member of Quantibacook Lodge No. 129 AF & AM of Searsmont. Charles was predeceased by a granddaughter, Shannon Perry; and a son-in-law, Craig Davis. He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Warman) of Belfast; seven children, Dolores Davis of Belfast, Sharon and Morgan Lee of Steep Falls, Cindy and Lew Shaw of New Gloster, Arlene and Norman Robbins of Raymond, N.H., Cheryl and Ralph Perry of Ulster, Pa., Sheila Fuller of Belmont, Kathy and Steve Morin of Searsport; seven grandchildren, James Davis III, Trevor Lee, Amy Shaw Jessica Walker, Eric Fuller and Kylie and Heather Perry; two great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Dakota Walker. Friends who wish may contribute to the Tall Pines Healthcare Facility, 21 Martin Lane, Belfast, in memory of Charles Thomas or the Quantibacook Lodge Scholarship fund.
