FRYEBURG – Charles, L. Tryder Sr., 77, husband of the late Catherine (Tennihan) Tryder, died Monday morning, Oct. 6, 2003, at Beverly Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Malden, Mass., the son of the late William and Helen (Kelley) Tryder, he was raised and educated in Charlestown, Mass. He had resided in Fryeburg for the past seven years and prior to that he had resided in Pittsfield for 40 years. Early in his career, Mr. Tryder was employed with Hood Dairies in Charlestown, Mass., and transferred to Newport. Following his employment with Hood, he was employed with Grant’s Dairy in Bangor. He was a manager for the dairy and retired in 1995. Mr. Tryder was a member of Kiwanis International and had coached Little League and Babe Ruth in Pittsfield. He was also an avid golfer. Mr. Tryder was very involved with his family. He was very proud of all of their accomplishments. His belief was that education was the most important tool in life. He encouraged his children and grandchildren to further their education to better their lives. Surviving him are one son, Charles Tryder Jr. and his wife, Tracy, of Fryeburg; three daughters, Karen Tryder of Portland, Linda Coes and her husband, Rufus, of Phippsburg, Denise Porter and her husband, Michael of Ipswich, Mass.; three sisters, Catherine Thompson of Charlestown, Mass.; Dorothy MacDonald of Newburyport, Mass., Mildred Morrisey of Melrose, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grand-children and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Robert, Paul, William, John and Helen Tryder. The funeral will be from the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, Mass., on Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Paul, Hamilton at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are 4-7 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be held privately in Fryeburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Foundation of Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary, for Dr. Seddon’s Research in Macular Degeneration, 243 Charles St., Boston, MA 02114.
