AUBURN – Charles Lawrence Jenkins, 41, died Aug. 24, 2005, in Auburn, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. He was a resident of Auburn for the last six years. He was born Nov. 12, 1963, in East St. Louis, Ill., the son of Rodney and Rose (Conrad) Jenkins. He grew up in East Bridgewater, Mass., and worked for many years for Purity Supreme Supermarkets. He went to school for truck driving and did long haul driving for nine years. In 1999, he bought his home in Maine and furthered his education at Central Maine Community College, majoring in electromechanical technology, graduating in May 2003. After graduating, he got a position at Country Kitchen in June 2003, where he was currently employed. He enjoyed many sports such as golf, ice hockey and hunting. He is survived by his parents, Rose and Rodney Jenkins of Topsfield; a brother, Rodney Jenkins Jr. of Lincoln; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Kevin Gallagher of Auburn; a niece, Ashley Gallagher of Auburn; an ex-wife, Julie Bassett Jenkins of Indiana; many aunts, uncles, cousins and very close friends. Friends may call 5-8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held noon, Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Roy Hurlburt officiating.
