OLD TOWN – Charles Paul Breau, 83, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008, surrounded by his loving family at a Bangor hospital. Born in Old Town, he was the son of Arthur and Flora (Holmes) Breau. Charles was a World War II veteran. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in England. He married Lucille Ouellette in Orono, Oct. 31, 1942. He retired from James River in 1985 after 39 years with the company. He was a member of Old Town VFW and Orono American Legion. Charles was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Harold Breau and Elmer Breau; and two sisters, Margaret Fortier and Maryann Chaisson. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lucille of Old Town; two children, Lynda Perkins and her husband, Andy, of Orono and Judy Melvin and her husband, Brian, of Clifton; two granddaughters, Beckie Woods and Lisa McGregor, both of Clifton; three great-grandchildren, Cody Woods, Meagan McGregor and Justin McGregor; three stepgrandchildren, William Perkins, Greg Perkins and Leisa Tucker; one great-stepgranddaughter, Lauryn Perkins; one brother, Kenneth Breau and his wife, Lucinda, of Old Town; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Old Town, in the spring. Arrangements are entrusted to Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town.
