BANGOR – Charles S. Curran, 80, died Aug. 17, 2007, at his home. He was born May 15, 1927, in Bangor, the son of Thomas and Rose (Flynn) Curran. Charles served four years in the U.S. Navy and then served with the U.S. Army for almost another four years. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service, Bangor, for 38 years. He was a former city councilman in Brewer and a lifetime member of the Elks, D.A.V. and VFW. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, F. DeLena (Miner) Curran of Bangor; two daughters and their husbands, Mary Jo and Edward Zack of Massapequa, N.Y., and Carol and Brian McKenna of Boothbay Harbor; one sister and her husband, Mildred and Charles Harris of Hermon; four grandchildren, Nichole and Michael Montefusco of Los Angeles, Heather O’Brien of Edgecomb and Sean McKenna of San Francisco; three great-grand-children, Cagney, Maisy and Scarlett O’Brien of Edgecomb; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, with the Rev. Roland Nadeau, officiating. Interment will be at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
