BANGOR – Charles T. Dionne passed away May 26, 2008. He was born Oct. 1, 1951, to Charles W. Dionne and Ellen C. (Toole) Dionne. Charles was educated at St. Mary’s Grammar School, John Bapst High School and graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1969. Charlie was an outstanding athlete, excelling in football, and track and field, earning first team All-State at John Bapst in his junior year in football and defensive back. After high school, Charlie received a two-year degree in art at American River College, California. Charles will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. He had a special way about him that made children smile and people feel at ease around him, but his great passion was to make people smile through his artwork. His watercolors and oil paintings on shingles were something to marvel over. Charles was predeceased by his father, Charles W. Dionne; and brother, James “Biggie” Dionne. Surviving members include his mother, Ellen; and brothers, Joseph, John “Beau” and companion, Edith Wallace, Timothy, Mark and wife, Diane, Michael and Robert, all of Bangor. Charlie leaves many nieces and nephews, John A., Kori and Nichole, his goddaughter, Jeremy and Joseph M.; great-nieces and great-nephews, Evan, Bridget and Jake; as well as a special godmother/aunt, Gerry Toole; a special godfather/uncle, Terry Toole. Services will be announced at a later date this week. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Charlies T. Dionne Memorial Fund, care of Ellen Dionne, Merrill Bank.
