CALAIS – Charlotte Ellen Annas, 97, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at a Calais nursing home. Charlotte was born July 13, 1908, in Red Beach, daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Wilson) Maloney. Charlotte graduated from the Calais Academy, Class of 1926. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Calais and enjoyed gardening and playing Beano. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Ivan Annas; and a daughter, Darlene Campbell. Surviving are her son, Burton Annas and wife, Mary Helen, of Calais; five grandchildren, Burton Annas Jr. and Brad Annas, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., William Annas of Calais, Lisa Campbell of Connecticut and Joseph Campbell of Mississippi; several great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Carolyn Sprague.
