GLENBURN – Cheryl A. Tapley Deschaine, 53, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, at a Bangor hospital, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 29, 1954, in Bangor, the daughter of Carroll and Gladys Cram. Cheryl was employed for a number of years at ARC through Acadia Hospital and was recently employed at Velocity. She was a member of AA and a friend of Bill W., just receiving the gold medallion with 11 years of sobriety. She was an inspiration to all her friends. She is survived by her loving husband, David Deschaine of Glenburn; her loving daughter, Roberta “Jobi” McArthur and her husband, Jimmy, of Lagrange; two grandchildren; two brothers, Ashel Cram and his wife, Celeste, of Amherst and Woody Richardson and Linda of Columbia; her twin sister, Sheila Rotta and her husband, Larry, of Glenburn; her niece and friend, Samantha Grindal of Clifton; several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by her good friends, Ricky Deschaine and his wife, Anne, Jack Barrow and his wife, Theresa, Gregg “Twinkie” of Ellsworth and Dana Smith and Linda; and her longtime friend, Chalma Greatorex of Amherst. She will be missed by her dogs, Butterball and Little Zeus and by her “PT Cruiser.” A memorial service will be held noon Wednesday at East Orrington Congregational Church, 38 Johnson Mill Road, Orrington, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson presiding. Her family has suggested memorial contributions to Ark Animal Shelter, 60 Barber Lane, Cherryfield, ME 04622.
