HODGDON – Cheryl Lynn Porter, 59, died Dec. 29, 2006, with her family by her side in Houlton, after a brief battle of esophageal cancer. She was born Dec. 20, 1947, in Corning, N.Y., the daughter of Arthur and Jean (Stout) Hitchins. Cheryl worked 28 years at the Community Living Association, where she was especially close to all the clients. She was a very active member of the Hodgdon United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Russell “Jack” Porter of Hodgdon; one daughter, Audra and her husband, Christopher Parsons, of Bucksport; one son, Dean and his wife, Clarissa Porter, of Hodgdon; four grandchildren, Maegan, Dylan, Alia and Vickie; sisters, Vickie, Carol and her husband, Lee; brother, Cliff; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Sharon, Dawn, Mary, Marilyn, Jodi, Linda and several others close friends. She was predeceased by her parents; and one brother, Jack. Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, at the Hodgdon United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday with Pastor Marilyn Rhodin officiating.
