CHESTER N. KENNEDY BREWSTER, Mass. – Chester N. Kennedy, formerly of Plainville, Conn., died March 14, 2008, at a Cape Cod hospital, after a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 2, 1928, in Milbridge, the son of Chester A. and Geneva (Beal) Kennedy. He graduated from Bangor High School and earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education at the University of Maine. He enlisted in the Army in 1953, served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955, with the rank of technical sergeant. He enjoyed an extensive career in education, teaching business courses at the college level and working as a guidance counselor. He was also involved in business sales and active in local politics, both in Connecticut and Cape Cod, Mass. His many interests included history, government, playing bridge, college basketball and going to auto races with his son. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia (Hyson); and a son, Steven Kennedy and wife, Lucy, of Wellfleet. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan. He is also survived by a brother, the Rev. Dana Kennedy of Milbridge; a sister, Janice Kennedy Doctor of South Portland; a niece, Katherine (Doctor) Latendresse and husband, Kevin, and their son, Alex; a nephew, Michael Kennedy and wife, Diane, and their three sons, Jamie, Ryan and MAK. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Christ Church Episcopal, Harwich Port, Mass.
