JACQUELINE B. DUMOND VAN BUREN – Jacqueline Dumond, 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior Good Friday, March 21, 2008, surrounded by her loving family, at her home. She was born Dec. 17, 1938, in Caribou, the daughter of Henry V.O. and Lena (Ouellette) Cyr. Jackie grew up on a farm in a large family where hard work ethics were a part of life. She was proud of her accomplishment of picking potatoes at the Higgins Farm, Presque Isle, where in one week she picked more than 100 barrels a day and on her best day she picked 134 barrels. She was a 1957 graduate of Madawaska High School and was employed for W.T. Grant Co., Van Buren, for 14 years. She was a faith filled person and her daily devotion to praying her rosary instilled strong religious values in her family. Jackie taught in the religious education program at her parish for many years. One of her favorite pastimes was reminiscing about the “good old days” with her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 45 years, Rosaire Dumond of Van Buren; four daughters, Sarah Corbin and her husband, Daniel, Cathy Laplante and her husband, George, April Emery and her husband, Daniel, all of Van Buren and Dinah Doucette and her husband, Troy, of Frenchville; six sisters, Annette Sirois of New Britain, Conn., Jeannette Bouchard of Grand Isle, Florence Roy of Madawaska, Rose Marie Beaulieu of Terryville, Conn., Verna Bouchard and Diane Bouchard, both of Bristol, Conn.; four brothers, Edwin Cyr of Florida, Emile Cyr of Manchester, Conn., Raymond Cyr of St. David and Delmer Cyr of Bristol, Conn.; five grandchildren, Nicole Corbin of Fort Kent, Michael Corbin of Old Town, Jessica Laplante and Eric Laplante, both of Van Buren and Cole Doucette of Frenchville; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant brother, Joseph; and three sisters, Bernadette Cyr in 1987, Lorraine Corriveau in 1990 and Rena Doucette in 2002. Relatives and friends may call 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of service at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday with Father David Cote, celebrant. Interment will be at Grande Riviere Cemetery later this spring.
