HOMER ‘BAR’ E. KIMBALL JR. BREWER – Homer “Bar” E. Kimball Jr., 84, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born March 9, 1924, in Bangor, the son of Homer E. Sr. and Roxanna (Bunker) Kimball. Homer, after graduating from Bangor High School, enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. He will always be remembered as a likable gentleman with a never-ending passion for baseball and the Boston Red Sox. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Carolyn (Mann) Kimball; son, Eugene Kimball of Ellsworth; daughters, Karen and her husband, Barry Burnell, of Ellsworth, Cheryl and her husband, David Keith, of Farmington and Peggy Smith of Veazie; sister, Louine Olson of Glastonbury, Conn.; grandchildren, Mike, Todd, Jessica, Lindsey, Erin, Brandi, Brynn, Cassina, Benjamin and Austin; eight great- grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Cassidy and Marguerite Dutil. He was predeceased by his parents, Homer E. Sr. and Roxanna (Bunker) Kimball. A memorial reception will be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
