AVIS M. GORDON EASTBROOK – Avis M. (Dyer) Gordon, 88, wife of the late Edgar S. Gordon Sr., passed away March 21, 2008, at home after a short illness. She was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Bangor, daughter of the late William and Hattie (Woods) Dyer. She is survived by nine of her 10 children, Ronald D. of Meriden, Conn., Gilbert H. and wife, Cheryl, of Canterbury, N.H., Norman H. and wife, Sharon, of Epsom, N.H., Janice M. of Waltham, James F. of Hancock, Thomas P. of Newington, N.H., Jonathan S. and wife, Birdie, of Trenton, Kathleen W. and husband, Mark Ginn, of Eastbrook and David S. and wife, Lois, of Franklin. She was predeceased by a son, William E., born April 1946, died May 1952. She had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she greatly enjoyed. She was much sought after as a friend and confidant by her children and all who knew her and provided for many hours of enjoyment with her subtle wit and sense of humor. She could always be counted on to contribute to any gathering of friends and relatives fortunate enough to enjoy her company. She so loved nature walks and playing the piano for family and friends. Family is indebted to all of Avis’s care givers for providing for her comfort. She has blessed the lives of all who have known her. There will be a spring burial to be announced at a later date.
