BAR HARBOR – Chris Hardy Nadeau, 57, died Nov. 16, 2007, at Mount Desert Island Hospital, Bar Harbor. He was born Feb. 18, 1950, in Bangor, the son of the late Leon “Nobby” and Dorothy V. (Hardy) Nadeau. Chris was a 1968 graduate of Bangor High School and received a scholarship to MIT. Chris’s passions were his late wife, pets and his nieces and nephews. Being a marine, Chris was passionate about veterans’ healthcare and rights, and was active in numerous military organizations. Chris had two tours in Vietnam, 1969-1973. He was past commander of the Marine Corp League, 2003-2004 and past commander of the American Legion, Bar Harbor and a member of the Mount Desert Island Lion’s Club. He is survived by his mother-in-law, Sadie Cunningham of Bar Harbor; a brother-in-law, Michael Cunningham and wife, Debra, of Scarborough; two brothers, Michael Nadeau and wife, Gloria, of Old Town and Peter Nadeau and wife, Marge, of Otis; two sisters, Taren O’Halloran of Eddington and Deborah A’Hearn and husband, David, of Otis; a special brother-in-law, Donald O’Halloran of Hampden; nieces and nephews, Dani O’Halloran and husband, Dana Andrews, of Brewer, Jennifer O’Halloran Potts and husband, Jason, of Va., Lynn Nadeau of Levant, Katie A’Hearn of Otis and Peter Nadeau Jr. of Eastbrook; and special friend, Therese Thibodeau. Chris was predeceased by his loving wife, Dianne Cunningham. Services of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at Jordan-Fernald, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor. Interment will be at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor. There will be no visitation Monday, Nov. 19, at Jordan-Fernald, Bar Harbor Chapel.
