CHRISTINA ANN NICHOLAS KENDUSKEAG – Christina A. Nicholas (Francis), 93, wife of Leslie P. Nicholas, died Sept. 23, 2005, at Bangor Nursing and Rehab. Center. She was born Sept. 25, 1912, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Bert and Clara (Polchies) Francis. Christina was a master basket maker and specialized in many other Indian crafts as well. She was a teacher of her crafts with so many others. Christina and Leslie were the proprietors of in the Indian Store in Searsport for many years. She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie (1995); and one son, David (1994). She is survived by one son, Thomas of Kenduskeag; a brother, Gerry Francis of Indian Island; two granddaughters, Leslie Marie Osgood (Nicholas) and Lisa Marie Beale; five nieces, Charlene Francis, Arlene Malvitch. Robin Martz, Lena Morrison and Caroline Kacensky; one nephew, Steve Ripley; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Nicholas. She will be remembered by her friend and companion, Dena Jewel, as well as friends, Wanda Martin, Betty Condon, Leanne Dutch, and so many others she touched, loved and helped. A memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Indian Island, with Fr. Paul Kerns, celebrant. A reception will follow at the parish hall. Following cremation, a graveside interment ceremony will be held at a later date at the family lot at Dover Cemetery, in Dover-Foxcroft. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.
