DEXTER – Christine B. Pelkie, 83, died Aug. 3, 2005, at a Dexter healthcare facility, after a long illness. She was born Feb. 28, 1922, in Harmony, the daughter of Merton and Inez (Flagg) Braley. She worked in Connecticut for several years, later returning to the Dexter area, where she worked for several local businesses. She was a member of the Rebekah’s, and will best be remembered for her love of children and family gatherings. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles A. Pelkie; an infant son, Allen; a daughter, Bertha Fanjoy; and a sister, Charlene Dube. She is survived by a son-in-law, Roger Fanjoy Sr. of Dexter; four grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Brenda Fanjoy, of Michigan, Roger Fanjoy Jr. of Corinna, Terri Walker of Appleton, Rob Fanjoy and his fianc?, Holly Weymouth, of Michigan; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Fanjoy, Ami Gongalski and Sean and Ryan Walker; a great-great-grandson, Kevin Gongalski; two brothers-in-law, Lucien Dube of Dexter, and Wardie Pelkie of Hartland; a nephew, Ted Dube; nieces, Barbara McKenney, Betty LaFerriere, and Karen Sleight. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., in Dexter. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, the funeral home with Pastor Lois Field officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Canaan.
