GORHAM – Christine Marie Candelmo, 37, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, in Windham. She was born Dec. 10, 1968, in Portland, a daughter of Edward H. and Eileen P. (O’Brion) Candelmo. She attended local schools and was a 1987 graduate of Deering High School, where she was active in cheerleading and sports. Christine attended the University of Maine – Orono. Christine worked as a waitress in local area restaurants. She loved music and was a performer at the Portland Lyric Theater. She enjoyed karaoke. As a young woman she studied dance. Christine loved the ocean and beach and spent many hours at Higgins Beach. One of her favorite enjoyments was spending time with her niece and nephew who called her “Auntie Nana”. Christine was a very spiritual woman who found great strength from her religion. Anyone who knew Christine would know that she would do anything for her friends and family. Surviving are a daughter, Courtney N. Candelmo of Gorham; a son, Nolan E. Cammack of Gorham; her mother, Eileen P. Candelmo of South Portland; her father, Edward H. and his wife, Coleen Candelmo, of Limerick; a step-mother, Barbara J. Clifford of Gray; a sister, Catherine Candelmo of Gorham; two brothers, Edward M. Candelmo of Tremont and Philip A. Candelmo of Bangor; her paternal grandmother, Rita Hughes of Portland; a niece, Haley Crosby of Gorham; a nephew, Shawn Crosby of Gorham and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visiting hours will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the chapel with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial after the service at Holy Cross Church, corner of Broadway and Cottage Road, South Portland. Burial will be at Bayview Cemetery, South Portland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the trust for Christine’s children, Nolan E. Cammack and Courtney N. Candelmo Support Fund, care of Bath Savings Institute, 46 Auburn St., Portland, ME 04103 or at any Bath Savings Institute.
