BANGOR – Christopher “Crippy” McCann, 48, died peacefully Sept. 18, 2006, at his home. He was born Jan. 8, 1958, in Bangor, the son of Edward L. McCann Sr. and Edith M. (Soucy) McCann. Crippy attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from John Bapst High School. He worked for Sikorsky Helicopter in Connecticut and then went into the Merchant Marines. Surviving are three children, Jillian, Jennifer and Jonathan McCann; three grandchildren; nine brothers, Paul W. McCann and his wife, Marjorie, of Brewer, Donald C. McCann and his wife, Anastatia, of Gilbert, Ariz., J. Michael McCann and his wife, Jackie, of Lyman, Joseph F. McCann and his wife, Marilyn, of Brewer, Timothy J. McCann of Gardner, Mass., Thomas A. McCann of Chandler, Ariz., James G. McCann and his wife, Brenda, of Falmouth, Raymond P. McCann and his wife, Carol, of Scotts-dale, Ariz., Clarence A. McCann and his wife, Denise, of Hermon; six sisters, Mary T. Burgess and her husband, James, of Newport Richey, Fla., Dorothy L. Anastas and her husband, Mike, of Gilbert, Ariz., Elizabeth A. Sormanti and her husband, Steve, of Southhampton, Mass., Ellen M. Short and her husband, Mike, of Wyoming, Margaret A. DuPerry and her husband, Philip, of Waterville, Katherine A. Boynton and her husband, Bill, of Hampden; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Edward L. McCann Jr. and Stephen P. McCann. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at St. John’s Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor, celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. The family invites relatives and friends to share refreshments in the parish hall, after the services.
