WATERVILLE – Christopher “Chris” Mark Harris passed away unexpect-edly Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Inland Hospital. He was born March 28, 1949, in Old Town, the son of Paul K. and Julia (Clark) Harris. He attended schools in Old Town and graduated in 1967. He later attended the University of Maine at Orono. Chris entered the Marine Corps as a lance corporal April 12, 1968, and was honorably discharged Nov. 1, 1969. He served in Vietnam and received many medals, including a Purple Heart and Combat Action Ribbon. He worked for a number of years at Georgia Pacific. In past years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his camp. In recent years, he cherished time with family and talking with friends. He enjoyed singing and teaching the kids his funny songs. He was a wonderful grampy and grandfather. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul K. and Julia (Clark) Harris. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Joan; step-daughters, whom he thought of as his own, Michelle Oliver and fianc?, Rick Beaulieu, and Sarah Bradstreet and husband, Kevin; and granddaughters, Autumn Oliver, Jade Oliver, Daisy Oliver and Grace Bradstreet. He is also survived by his sister, Meredith Day and husband, Tom; a brother, Samuel Harris and his wife, Maureen; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be missed by many special friends, especially Arthur Bickford. Visiting hours will be at 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 107 Main St., Fairfield. Graveside service with military honors will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Maplewood Cemetery, Fairfield.
