FRENCHVILLE – Claire (Ayotte) Nadeau, 89, died peacefully June 24, 2005, at a Frenchville nursing care facility. She was born June 19, 1916, in St. Agatha, the daughter of Josephel and Marie (Albert) Ayotte. Claire worked at the Northern Maine Medical Center for many years. She was also employed by Woolworth in New Britain, Conn., for a number of years. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She will be remembered as being a great cook. She is survived by one son, Joseph Roderick and his wife, Carmella Michaud of Danielson, Conn.; five daughters, Judy and her husband, Armand Levesque of St. Francois, New Brunswick, Risa Joyce and her husband, Charles Beaulieu of Bristol, Conn., Diana and her husband, Albert St. Onge, of Plainville, Conn., Phyllis and her husband, Dick Devoe of Winterville, Jeannie Nadeau and her companion, Leland Thibodeau of St. John Plantation; two brothers, Leonide Ayotte of St. Agatha, Alcide Ayotte, of Plainville, Conn.; four sisters, Annette Nadeau of Meriden, Conn., Aurore Pelletier of Bristol, Conn.; Yvette Plourde of Newington, Conn. and Hilda Bossie of Caribou; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grand-children; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Roderick Michaud in 1945 and her second husband, Adelard Nadeau in 1989; one brother, Lawrence Ayotte; and two sisters, Cora Albert and Cecile Ouellette. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent and 8 a.m. Monday until the time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
